CPD Accredited Training for front line staff working in local authorities, housing associations and third sector organisations who come into contact with vulnerable and low income groups who are at risk from living in cold homes.

Course content:

  • Definition of fuel poverty and its causes
  • Identifying fuel poor households
  • Recommended indoor temperatures
  • Health implications of living in cold and damp homes
  • Heat loss in the home
  • Condensation dampness
  • Signposting to help and assistance:
  • Local schemes
  • Warm Home Discount Scheme
  • Winter Fuel Payment
  • Cold Weather Payment
  • Affordable Warmth Obligation of the Energy Company Obligation (ECO)
  • Priority Service Registers – fuel suppliers and Distribution Network operators
  • Home Heat Helpline
